Since 1982

In April of 1982 at a gathering of friends – teachers, business people, medical professionals – the talk turned to charity. Everyone wanted to help others, but wanted to help people directly rather than through a large organization. We soon embarked on the creation of a charity that accomplishes the goal of helping individuals without taking money out of donations for administrative costs and expenses – a charity that knows who they were helping and why – a charity that is a resource for people in need who can’t find help elsewhere.
FRIENDS OF MAN WAS BORN!
* All volunteer
* All administrative costs and expenses paid by the volunteers
* 100% of Friends of Man donations restricted for charitable assistance
Over the years, many hundreds of social workers, patient navigators, teachers, and other referring professionals have applied to Friends of Man and found help for their clients, patients, and students.
A True Team Effort
Today 20 volunteers work at Friends of Man, entering new cases on the computer, screening all requests carefully, working closely with referring professionals, doctors, vendors and applicants – in short, doing all the work required to bring about the desired result – helping people who are genuinely in need. And no one receives a salary or any compensation whatever!
